News from Region X Weekend!

Hot news from Region X weekend: the Phoenix Alumnae Chapter won the award for Best Alumnae-Collegiate Relations, and Pi Zeta brings home the Pride of the Region title! Ladies, this is huge because it involves all the chapters in the western U.S., including Hawaii! Our chapter's membership chair, Carol Sweeney, was named our "Unsung Hero."

It's a Boy!

Phoenix alum Cathy Handen Sewell and her husband were in Hawaii in March for a shower... for Baby Boy Sewell, who should be making an appearance in May! Stay tuned for news of the big event! Cathy's family and friends did a great job organizing the shower.

Scholarship News

Thanks to tips and volunteer shifts at the WM Open Golf Tournament the Phoenix Panhellenic Association is able to award 18 scholarships at the May awards dinner. Thirteen collegians (including 3 Delta Zetas) will share $16,500 and 5 women in the continuing education category will share $9,500. Amounts of the individual awards range from $500 to $2500. Selection is based on GPA and various other factors. PPA received 26 applications this year. Congrats to the DZ's, who will be notified in the coming weeks.

Meet Our Delegates!

We would like to introduce our new Phoenix Panhellenic delegates. Paige (right) is again the delegate and Julia will be our incoming alternate. They met for the first time at the PPA meeting on April 2nd. Julia is panhellenic advisor at Embry-Riddle in Prescott and she looks forward to being involved with our PPA and the alum chapter. She can make the trip in record time! Be sure to get to know her at the May alum meeting.

Annual Taco Salad Buffet!

Dear DZ Alumnae,

I want to personally thank you for preparing, planning, cooking and feeding us tonight at the annual taco dinner!! So many girls came up to me and said this was really good and all of the alum. were so sweet! Your hard work is appreciated! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We hope that the Pi Zeta chapter makes you proud, and we will continue to strive to be just like the great examples you all set! Thank you again!
