Farewell for now...
Dear Sisters,
We are moving to our new home near Lake Tahoe next week, so I want to say farewell for now. The Phoenix Alumnae Chapter has been a big part of my life for three decades, and although I will be 700 miles away, I will remain part of the group. I hope to return for Founders Day in October and will keep up with everything via email, the blog, and Facebook.
Thank you all for enriching my life and for your caring support during dark days. I am blessed to have so many wonderful sisters. Please stay in touch!

News from Region Weekend
Region Weekend was hosted by the Pi Gamma
chapter at California State University Northridge and the San Fernando Alumnae
chapter on Friday 4/26- Sunday 4/28 at the Hilton Hotel in Woodland Hills,
Calif.
Friday night the San Fernando
alumnae hosted a lovely reception at the home of Heather Wang's grandparents in
Chatsworth. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed a delicious meal of catered
sandwiches, home-made salads and desserts. The chairs were decorated with bows
the theme of the weekend. "Delta Zeta, the sisterhood that ties us
together!" We had a great time meeting everyone and enjoying the food.
Thanks again to Lorrie, Heather and the SF chapter! 32 alumnae attended
the reception from all over the region/area.
Region/Area shirts were
adorable with big bows! Amanda Allegra, Pi Gamma CCD, Neda Nickfardjam chapter
president, their committee and Kim Jones RCD did an amazing job of putting
together the weekend of sisterhood.
Saturday events included
registration, DZ Dezigns, Rose Tree (raising over $180 for the Foundation)and a
formal welcome of DZ VIPS. Guests and presenters included, Past National
President Michelle Smith, past National officer, Karen Campbell, National
Ritual Chairman Cindy Holmes, State Alumnae Chairman-California Elaine Jeffers,
Vicki Bowman, Region Financial advisor, Kelly Janousek, Region Academics
advisor, Paula Harfst, region recruitment advisor. Pi Gamma member, Fernanda
Moran led the whole group in learning the Creed in sign language.
At the luncheon we had the
opportunity to enjoy the keynote speaker, Jamison Keller, CSUN coordinator of
Fraternity & Sorority Life and Faculty, Empowerment through Sisterhood.
Three break-out sessions: Living our Values with Cindy Holmes and Karen Campbell;
It's Greek to Them with Steve Jones (on how to best present yourself in
interviews, resumes etc.)and Save the Drama fo yo Mama! with alumna Karla
Aragon.
The dinner and awards were
followed by a Fun Night at a local bowling alley.
At the awards banquet, Kim
Jones revealed the new title for the Pride of the Region Award, the
Michelle Albrecht Smith Chapter Excellence Award. The exciting thing
was Past National President Michelle was present. This year the award was
presented by Michelle to the Xi Omicron Chapter at Loyola Marymount University!
